League recap: Carlin tops Mineral County to extend winning streak

IV Northern - East (8 Man) recap Nov. 7, 2012

Carlin extended the longest winning streak in IV Northern - East (8 Man) this week by beating Mineral County, 94-68. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Railroaders.

Carlin took down the Serpents 94-68 last week, the largest margin of any game. Chance Moen ran for 377 yards in the win.

The Railroaders' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jacob Burris-blaine threw for 160 and three touchdowns and Blade Lester had 92 yards receiving. Antonio Macias helped Carlin's passing attack out by catching three balls for 68 yards.

Macias made the biggest impact on defense this week as Carlin defeated Mineral County. The defensive end pulled down one interception.

Carlin's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Railroaders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Burris-blaine has thrown for 1006 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Macias has 21 catches for 486 yards. Moen leads the league in rushing with 1332 yards.

The Railroaders made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 387 from 447. The improvement came about via a 94-68 victory over the Serpents last week.
