Volleyball Game Preview: Wheeling Wildcats vs. Lake Zurich Bears

After both having extra time off, the Wheeling Wildcats and the Lake Zurich Bears will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheeling will be strutting in after a victory while Lake Zurich will be coming in after a loss.

On Wednesday, Wheeling beat Elgin 2-0. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Maroons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Wheeling not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Elgin between 16 and 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Lake Zurich came up short against Stevenson on Wednesday and fell 2-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost three in a row.

While Lake Zurich was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23.

Lake Zurich's loss dropped their record down to 18-14. As for Wheeling, their victory bumped their record up to 24-11.
