Wabash had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 2-7 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They slipped by the Whitko Wildcats 36-35. The Apaches have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Davon Osborn had an outrageously good game as he picked up 209 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 71 yards. Another player making a difference was Haiden McWhirt, who threw for 359 yards and four TDs.

As for Whitko, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8. On the bright side, the 35- point performance marked their highest-scoring game to date.

When it comes to explaining why Whitko lost, don't look at Cooper Laukhuf. Despite the final result, he rushed for 42 yards and one score, and also threw for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Wabash didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-13 loss against Tipton on the 24th. As for Whitko, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 48-0 defeat against Eastside on the 24th.
