Football Recap: Clinton Prairie Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Clinton Prairie unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 37-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Frontier Falcons on Friday. Despite 120 more yards than the Falcons, the Gophers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Clinton Prairie's loss came despite strong showings from Braiden Jarboe and Kye Jacobs. Jarboe gained 191 total yards and a touchdown, while Jacobs picked up 166 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Ayden Justice went supernova For Frontier., rushing for 126 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 117 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. Those 126 rushing yards gave Justice a new career-high. Chase Winkler was another key player, picking up 84 receiving yards and two scores.

Clinton Prairie has already played their next match, a 50-0 win against Frankfort on the 29th. As for Frontier, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 54-21 victory against Winamac on the 29th.
