Baseball Recap: West Anchorage Eagles vs. Eagle River Wolves
West Anchorage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eagle River Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-4 two weeks ago.
West Anchorage saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paul Dittrich, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
West Anchorage's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Eagle River, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2-1.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Anchorage is set to take on their familiar foe Dimond at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Eagle River will square off against rival Service at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wolves 3.4, the Cougars 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
