The West Phoenix Eagles were the 39-35 winner over the ASU Prep Sun Devils when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. West Phoenix was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 57-56 to ASU Prep. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
West Phoenix's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Schoen, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals. Schoen scored a full 26.8% of West Phoenix's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amir Gipson , who scored 12 points along with 4 steals.
West Phoenix are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for ASU Prep, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-3.
