Softball Recap: Tunstall Sets Scoring Season-High Against George Washington

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tunstall). They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the George Washington Eagles on Tuesday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Colby Eastwood made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Harper Lovelace was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Sarah Payne was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one triple, and one run.

Tunstall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Tunstall's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for George Washington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tunstall beat the Eagles by a score of 7-0 later that day.
