NCSSM: Durham will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Voyager Academy on Monday. The Unicorns blew past the Vikings 7-1. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 4-1.

Meanwhile, Franklin Academy came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Tigers a 5-0 shutout. Given Franklin Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Triangle Math & Science are ranked 225th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
