Softball Recap: Marion Harding Comes Up Short

Marion Harding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pleasant Spartans. The Presidents were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Allison Hecker was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kameron Biederman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Macey Harper was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Marion Harding's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Pleasant, they moved to 3-12 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Marion Harding didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-4 loss against Galion on the 9th. Pleasant has also already played their next game (against Highland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
