Basketball Recap: Garden Grove Takes a Loss

Garden Grove lost a heartbreaker to Norwalk when they met back in November of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Argonauts took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. The Argonauts haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Norwalk's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jesus Sanchez, who made all 9 shots he took to post 18 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Sanchez a new career-high in assists (four). David Zazueta was another key player, going 7-for-11 to rack up 18 points and five assists.

Garden Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Norwalk, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Garden Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 59-58 loss against Loara on the 6th. As for Norwalk, they have also already played their next contest, a 40-18 defeat against El Modena on the 6th.
