Basketball Recap: Lakeside Lancers vs. Perris Panthers
Lakeside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 70-41 loss at the hands of the Perris Panthers. The Lancers were down 48-26 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Davion Dickerson, who posted six points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Maurice Turner, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.
Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Perris, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.
When Lakeside and Perris next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Lakeside will try to stop Hemet's 20-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lakeside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Perris will square off against Paloma Valley and their three-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
