Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Covington). They blew past the Pearl River Rebels 9-2 on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Covington's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12-1. As for Pearl River, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-2.

Covington has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Slidell on the 17th. As for Pearl River, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-0 defeat against Cohen on the 17th.
