Basketball Game Preview: Stafford Indians vs. Fredericksburg Christian Eagles

The Stafford Indians will take on the Fredericksburg Christian Eagles in a holiday battle at at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Saturday, Stafford came up short against Chancellor and fell 45-36. The match marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Stafford saw an underclassman step up: freshman Olivia Ferguson went 7 for 10 on her way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Ferguson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played.

Meanwhile, Fredericksburg Christian ended up a good deal behind Riverbend on Saturday and lost 71-54.

Fredericksburg Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Stafford, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Stafford came up short against Fredericksburg Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 59-46. Can Stafford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
