Football Recap: New Smyrna Beach Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact New Smyrna Beach can now relate to. They were just a hair shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 7-6 to the Seabreeze Sandcrabs. The Barracudas just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

AVery Looney threw for 76 yards on six of nine attempts. Taylor Vance was her top target, picking up 42 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Vicky Singelton rushed for 45 yards.

New Smyrna Beach's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Seabreeze, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-7.

New Smyrna Beach has already played their next matchup, a 7-6 win against Weeki Wachee on the 23rd. As for Seabreeze, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 26-0 defeat against Jones on the 17th.
