College Prep & Leadership Academy extends home losing streak to ten

Recap: College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals vs. Piedmont Classical Bobcats

This season hasn't been kind to the College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals, who are still winless after their 12th contest. They were beaten by Piedmont Classical 71-40 on Friday. College Prep & Leadership Academy has struggled against Piedmont Classical recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

College Prep & Leadership Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Melody Johnson, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Melissa Massenat was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.

Even though they lost, College Prep & Leadership Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. This was only their eighth loss (out of eight games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

It was another big night for Ge'Kayla Goins, who scored 28 points for Piedmont Classical. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goins has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamia Carter, who scored 17 points.

College Prep & Leadership Academy's defeat was their tenth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.2 points per game. As for Piedmont Classical, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season.

College Prep & Leadership Academy the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Bethany at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Piedmont Classical, they will head out on the road to challenge Leadership Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
