Piscataquis won against Searsport last Monday with 57 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Piscataquis Pirates skirted past the Stearns Minutemen 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since December 12, 2023.

The victory made it two in a row for Piscataquis and bumps their season record up to 5-9. As for Stearns, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piscataquis won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against George Stevens Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stearns, they will challenge Penquis Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Penquis Valley will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Stearns surely won't give up without a fight.
