Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is El Campo's Fourth in Last Five Outings

El Campo's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They never let the Calhoun Sandcrabs get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Ricebirds have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

El Campo's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Presley Bacak, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs Bacak has posted since back in February. Another was Emma Labay, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

El Campo hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calhoun struck out seven times.

El Campo has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7-1 record this season. As for Calhoun, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-14.

El Campo will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Sandcrabs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
