Softball Recap: Gueydan Bears vs. Oberlin Tigers
Gueydan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They suffered a tough 14-1 defeat at the hands of the Oberlin Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Gueydan of the 23-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture on March 12th.
For Oberlin's part, Megan Manuel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Manuel was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Addison Drummond was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Amber Manuel was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
