Flag Football Recap: Gilbert Piles Up the Points Against Desert Ridge

It was a proper cat-fight when Gilbert faced off against Desert Ridge on Thursday. The Tigers really took it to the Jaguars for the full four quarters, racking up a 39-7 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Lilah Barton had another great game (as she tends to do), throwing for 291 yards and five touchdowns while completing 78.4% of her passes, and also rushing for 37 yards. Jaylin Guerrero was another key player, gaining 135 total yards and a touchdown.

Gilbert didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Julianna (Juli) Loy and Raegan Rogers.

Gilbert's record now sits at 11-4. As for Desert Ridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Coming up, Gilbert will take on Queen Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 9.1 points per game this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them. Desert Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
