Soccer Game Preview: Campbell County vs. Knoxville Central

Campbell County is 0-5 against Knoxville Central since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Campbell County will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Union County on Tuesday. The Cougars never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The win continues a trend for Campbell County in their matchups with Union County: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Knoxville Central came into Saturday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Alcoa on Saturday, sneaking past 3-2.

Campbell County now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Knoxville Central, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5-2.

Campbell County suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Knoxville Central in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
