Basketball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Taholah's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Taholah unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 50-38 to the Pe Ell Trojans. The Chitwhins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Pe Ell found their leader in sophomore Maisy King, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 boards gave King a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Zock, who posted four points along with 16 rebounds and four blocks.

Taholah's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Pe Ell, their victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-0.

Taholah didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-35 win against Evergreen Lutheran on the 25th. As for Pe Ell, they are taking a road trip to face off against Waterville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Waterville: 28.2, Pe Ell: 22.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
