Volleyball Game Preview: Basic Wolves vs. Shadow Ridge Mustangs

Basic is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will host the Shadow Ridge Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Basic is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.

Basic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Boulder City, who was ranked ninth at the time (Basic was ranked fifth). The Wolves were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles on Monday. The Wolves not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 23rd (when they won 3-0).

While Basic won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge came up short against Lindbergh on Saturday and fell 2-0.

Shadow Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Basic, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.

Basic was able to grind out a solid victory over Shadow Ridge in their previous meeting on March 10th, winning 3-1. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
