Basketball Recap: Halifax Academy Takes a Loss

Halifax Academy lost against Wilson Christian Academy back in November of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the Halifax Academy Vikings and the Wilson Christian Academy Chargers didn't end well, with the Halifax Academy Vikings falling 57-40. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Despite the loss, Halifax Academy still got an impressive performance from Landon Peoples, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Peoples is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Boone, who posted six points.

Halifax Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Wilson Christian Academy, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Halifax Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Thales Academy Rolesville at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Wilson Christian Academy will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Wake Christian Academy at 7:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
