Softball Game Preview: Kenston Bombers vs. Chagrin Falls Tigers

The Kenston Bombers will venture away from home to challenge the Chagrin Falls Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Kenston will be strutting in after a win while Chagrin Falls will be coming in after a loss.

Kenston came out on top against Kirtland on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Bombers were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Hornets. Considering the Bombers have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Chagrin Falls scored first but ultimately less than Hawken in their game on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 12-11. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by just one run.

Ella Stec led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Brigitte Edwards was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Kenston has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Chagrin Falls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.
