Basketball Recap: Emanuel County Institute Comes Up Short

Emanuel County Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 72-37 loss at the hands of the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-15.

McIntosh County Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Craig Battle, who posted 23 points and seven boards. The matchup was Battle's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Mj Quarterman was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds.

Emanuel County Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for McIntosh County Academy, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

Emanuel County Institute and Claxton will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. McIntosh County Academy has already played their next contest (against Portal), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
