Basketball Recap: Carbondale Takes a Loss

Carbondale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vienna Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Terriers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Eagles are ranked 52nd).

Carbondale's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Vienna, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carbondale will face off against Benton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Vienna has already played their next match (against Christopher), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
