Baseball Recap: Grapeland Comes Up Short

Grapeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-3 to the Lovelady Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 back in March.

Eli Deleon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Lovelady, their record now sits at 13-10-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Grapeland will square off against rival Centerville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lovelady is set to challenge their familiar foe Leon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
