Soccer Game Preview: Hampton vs. Newton

The Hampton Hornets will venture away from home to challenge the Newton Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Hampton and 15 for Newton.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Hampton and Locust Grove had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Hornets came up short against the Wildcats on April 1st, falling 9-0. That's two games in a row now that Hampton have lost by exactly nine goals.

Meanwhile, Newton fell victim to Eastside and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Eagles. While losing is never fun, Newton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 446th, while Eastside are ranked 168th).

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Hampton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.
