Softball Recap: Robbinsville Takes a Loss

If Robbinsville was feeling good fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Polk County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Robbinsville Black Knights fell just short of the Enka Jets by a score of 1-0 on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Naomi Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits.

Robbinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Enka, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Coming up, Robbinsville will head out to face off against Smoky Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Robbinsville is facing Smoky Mountain at the right time seeing as Smoky Mountain is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Enka, they will welcome Erwin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give Erwin their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
