Baseball Recap: Lakewood Takes a Loss

Lakewood and Nooksack Valley pushed the score to 11-10 the last time they played Nooksack Valley, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Cougars fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 2-1. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Pioneers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lakewood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayden Hayes, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Lakewood's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Nooksack Valley, they moved to 3-9 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lakewood will take on rival Mt. Baker at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Nooksack Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Mount Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
