Baseball Recap: Rigby Comes Up Short

Rigby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-4 to the Capital Golden Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-4 on Saturday.

Quinn Bennett was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Jacob Stewart also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Rigby's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Capital, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Rigby will head out on the road to face off against Vallivue at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Capital, they will host Post Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
