Football Recap: Legend's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Legend walked away with it. They beat the Fort Collins Lambkins on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 42-28. Winning may never get old, but the Titans sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Legend's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryken Banks led the charge by rushing for 253 yards and a pair of TDs. With that strong performance, Banks is now averaging an impressive 109.4 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooks Goossen, who threw for 365 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Legend was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 288 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Legend didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Freddie Burke and Braylon Aukland.

Fort Collins lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Justin Cranford, who threw for 280 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 40 yards. Another receiver making a difference was Preston Mozer, who picked up 122 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Legend's record is now 10-1. As for Fort Collins, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Legend will challenge Valor Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,290 yards in their previous games. Fort Collins does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
