It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Animo Bunche Stallions can now relate to. They were the victim of a rough 53-28 defeat at the hands of the Sentinels on Friday. Animo Bunche's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it four in a row.
Belmont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Martin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Martin pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Daryl Bing, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Animo Bunche has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Belmont, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-19.
Animo Bunche does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Belmont, they will square off against Horace Mann UCLA Community at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Belmont is coming into the matchup with 14 straight wins on the road, so Horace Mann UCLA Community is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
