The Union Cougars will challenge the Morgan Trojans at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Union is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Richfield 10-8. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Haylee Moynier spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Payzlei Parrish, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Teddy Oleen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, Morgan entered their tilt with Providence Hall on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since April 11th.
Eva Birkeland made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Birkeland was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Lexi Hardman was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kassidy Wardell, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Morgan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 17 consecutive matchups.
Morgan's win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Union, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Union hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Morgan struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Union suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Morgan when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
