Flag Football Recap: Chaminade Piles Up the Points Against Village Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chaminade). They blew past the Village Christian Crusaders 42-7 on Thursday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 25 points or more this season.

Lauren Jesic was her usual excellent self, throwing for 184 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of her passes, and also punching in one TD on the ground. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in passer rating (159.4). Kaitlyn Nelson was Jesic's top target, picking up 28 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 40 yards.

Chaminade didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Natalie Warsavsky, Nelson, and Brooke Mosqueda picked up one apiece. Warsavsky is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as she's now made five or more in each of the last three games she's played. Chaminade got some further help from Audrey Egan: she picked up three sacks and made six total tackles.

The win (which was Chaminade's fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.3 points on average over those games. As for Village Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Chaminade does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Village Christian, they have already played their next matchup, a 33-0 defeat against Burroughs on the 6th.
