Basketball Recap: Surry Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Damen Hazelwood and Jax Whitaker + How To Watch

Surry Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 73-58 bruising from the Elkin Buckin' Elks. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buckin' Elks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Surry Central's loss came despite strong showings from Jax Whitaker and Damen Hazelwood. Whitaker posted 24 points, while Hazelwood almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Surry Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Surry Central will be playing at home against North Wilkes at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Elkin, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Forbush at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
