Football Recap: Cornerstone Christian Piles Up the Points Against Swett

There's no place like home for Cornerstone Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-6 win over the Swett Warriors. Considering the Cougars have won four contests by more than 35 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Matthew Miyahara produced another solid performance rushing for 138 yards and three TDs. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. Ace Heyer also helped with two touchdowns in total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cornerstone Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 167 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Another reason for the win was Cornerstone Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Marcos Ochoa was especially locked on to Swett's QB and sacked him twice.

The victory got Cornerstone Christian back to even at 5-5. As for Swett, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Cornerstone Christian has already played their next game, a 52-22 win against South Fork on the 14th. Swett does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
