Football Game Preview: Brooks County Trojans vs. Lanier County Bulldogs + How To Watch

Brooks County has gone a perfect 3-0 against Lanier County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Trojans will challenge the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Brooks County will be strutting in after a victory while Lanier County will be coming in after a loss.

Brooks County's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They really took it to Turner County for the full four quarters, racking up a 28-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Trojans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Titans are ranked 317th).

Damari Baynard had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 177 yards and two TDs. Those 177 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Trae Stevenson also helped out with an impressive 109 receiving yards.

Another reason for the win was Brooks County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Caden Cobb, Rodney Frazier, and Jakavion McCloud, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Turner County's side was Cobb, who picked up a sack, made 12 total tackles (1.5 for loss), and defended one pass.

Meanwhile, Lanier County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Charlton County, falling 48-20. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Brooks County's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Lanier County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything went Brooks County's way against Lanier County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Brooks County made off with a 39-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
