Basketball Recap: Madison County Mountaineers vs. Page County Panthers
Madison County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Page County Panthers. The Mountaineers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 38-35.
Despite the defeat, Madison County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Gracie Woodward dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for Woodward. The team also got some help courtesy of Michelle Thompson, who posted three points in addition to six boards and five steals.
