Recap: Burns Bulldogs vs. Cherryville Ironmen
The Burns Bulldogs posted their biggest win since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They breezed by Cherryville at home to the tune of 72-39. Burns pushed the score to 55-25 by the end of the third, a deficit Cherryville had little chance of recovering from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burns to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kamari Surratt, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Jeremiah Norris was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine assists and four steals.
Cherryville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Darius Pullen, who scored six points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Paxton Pruett, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Burns has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Cherryville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burns will face off against Shelby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shelby is on a three-game streak of home wins, Burns a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Cherryville, they will head out on the road to take on Thomas Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
