Football Recap: Mingus Takes a Loss

Mingus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Maricopa Rams, falling 57-0.

Hunter Bejarano threw for 67 yards on five of 14 attempts. Isaiah Ortiz was his top target, picking up 26 receiving yards.

A big part of Maricopa's win came down to the chemistry between Jose Cardona Jr and his top target Fabian Marrufo. Cardona Jr gained 152 total yards and two touchdowns while Marrufo gained 83 total yards and two touchdowns.

Mingus' defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Maricopa, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Mingus will welcome Mohave at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maricopa, they are taking a road trip to take on Sunnyside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
