Basketball Game Preview: Africentric Early College Nubians vs. Norwayne Bobcats

The Africentric Early College Nubians will face off against the Norwayne Bobcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Africentric Early College comes in on five and Norwayne on 18.

Africentric Early College is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They took down Ottawa-Glandorf 53-38. The win was all the more spectacular given the Nubians' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Titans are ranked 18th).

Canton South typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Norwayne proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 48-43 victory over the Wildcats.

Norwayne's win came from a few key players Africentric Early College will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ava Maibach, who shot 57% from the field on her way to 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Hannah Froelich was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards.

Africentric Early College pushed their record up to 20-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.8 points. As for Norwayne, their victory bumped their record up to 24-3.
