Soccer Recap: Cannon vs. Covenant Day
Cannon lost against Covenant Day back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Covenant Day Lions who were credited with the win. The Covenant Day Lions got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Cannon Cougars' one. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Cannon's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Covenant Day, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cannon will venture away from home to face off against Charlotte Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cannon is facing Charlotte Christian at the right time seeing as Charlotte Christian is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Covenant Day, they will head out to take on Charlotte Country Day School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
