Baseball Recap: Atholton Find Success

Atholton was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Oakland Mills on Wednesday. Atholton put the hurt on Oakland Mills with a sharp 19-1 win. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Noah Weinig was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Meadows, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Atholton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Atholton will square off against Guilford Park at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Oakland Mills, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Marriotts Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Marriotts Ridge has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.25 runs per game on average), something Oakland Mills will no doubt try to take advantage of.
