Soccer Game Preview: Commerce vs. Athens Academy

The Commerce Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Athens Academy Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Commerce took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Banks County a 3-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Athens Academy). Everything went their way against Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy last Friday as Athens Academy made off with an 11-1 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their one-goal performance the game before.

The win got Athens Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Commerce, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
