Basketball Recap: Newcastle Falls Despite Big Games from Sydney Pederson and Adalyn Olson

Newcastle saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 47-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lovell Bulldogs.

Newcastle's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Adalyn Olson, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 17 points, and Sydney Pederson, who posted eight points along with five rebounds and five steals. That's the most points Olson has posted since back in December of 2023.

Newcastle's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lovell, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Newcastle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 79-28 defeat against Pinedale on the 14th. Lovell has also already played their next contest, a 52-17 victory against Rawlins on the 14th.
