Volleyball Recap: Morris Beats Coal City for Their Third Straight Victory

Morris extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Alyssa Jepson. Morris came out on top against the Coal City Coalers by a score of 2-0 on Thursday for which the team can thank Jepson, who had 11 digs and three assists. Jepson is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.

Morris didn't let Coal City take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23.

Several Coalers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Olivia Ferrari, who had ten digs.

Morris' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Coal City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Morris wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Lisle on the 30th. As for Coal City, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Illinois Math & Science Academy on the 30th.
