Softball Recap: Huntingdon Sets Scoring Season-High Against Bald Eagle Area

Huntingdon hadn't done well against Bald Eagle Area recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Huntingdon came out on top against Bald Eagle Area by a score of 4-1. The Bearcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Alivia Nicklow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leah Beck, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Emmah Royer also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Huntingdon's record now sits at 3-1. As for Bald Eagle Area, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Huntingdon is taking a road trip to face off against Bellefonte at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bald Eagle Area, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Philipsburg-Osceola at 4:00 p.m.
