Everett took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Somerville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Crimson Tide won by a run and slipped past the Highlanders 3-2. While the Crimson Tide didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Everett saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was MJ Guida, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Everett has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Somerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Everett will look to defend their home field on Friday against Belmont at 4:15 p.m. As for Somerville, they will face off against Peabody Veterans Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
