Basketball Recap: St. Brendan Sabres vs. Marathon Dolphins
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mater Academy Charter, St. Brendan was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 48-41 victory over the Marathon Dolphins. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sabres also won the last time the pair played back in January.
St. Brendan can attribute much of their success to Bella Perez, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Madison Garcia, who had eight points.
Marathon's loss came despite strong showings from Elena Eubank and Daysi Williams. Eubank put up 21 points in addition to six boards and four steals, while Williams dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Williams is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Payton Junker, who posted five points and seven rebounds.
